Scope of Operations
The Cross-Border Forum is an industry coordination platform established to facilitate discussions, collaboration, and strategic decision-making on cross-border payment operations, regional integration, and payment system interoperability. The forum functions as an industry-led platform focused on cross-border payments within the National Payment System (NPS) and the broader regional payments ecosystem. It aims to improve the efficiency, security, accessibility, and interoperability of cross-border payment services between Namibia and international markets. The forum supports initiatives addressing operational, regulatory, settlement, compliance, and foreign exchange considerations associated with cross-border transactions. Through stakeholder collaboration and alignment of industry standards, the forum promotes regional integration and the development of seamless cross-border payment solutions that facilitate trade, investment, and economic growth.
Through collaborative self-regulation, standard-setting, and risk monitoring, PAN coordinating forums ensure high systemic safety, legal compliance, and operational interoperability across Namibia's national payments market.
